Are you Backwoods material?

If you are interested in working with people, protecting others and a job where you are valued, Backwoods is for you. If you are looking for a long-term career or part-time job in security, it starts here with us. 

Do you have excellent interpersonal skills? Are you dependable, a great team player and willing to learn? 

No experience? No problem! Getting started in a rewarding career in the security field is easy. Working with us in guest services is an easy option to get your foot in the door and, if you like, pave the way for you to advance on to our security team. But it’s also a great option as a part-time job where you get the benefits of attending concerts, festivals and other exciting events in and around Alberta.

For other security positions, applicants must have a valid Alberta or B.C. security licence. Standard first aid is recommended and depending on the sector you are applying for, other certifications might be required.

WE CAN HELP

Want to earn some extra income in the summer, work part time or join our full-time crew but don’t have your security license?  We can support interested applicants to take that first step to join the Backwoods Security team.

Now what?

Our employees are trained for success. Here’s what your training may include:

orientation

Backwoods’ Security Guard Employee orientation is our initial training program developed to get our employees familiarized with their new environment, co-workers and company.  It provides the basic training and preparation required for new employees to face some of the challenges they may encounter.

Technical training

Many roles at Backwoods require specific technical training in order for our employees to work safely and keep the sites safe..  We provide our employees, either internally or externally, with any technical training needed to conduct their jobs efficiently. IE. Verbal De-escalation training, Nalxone training, CCTV operational training, etc

Supervisor training

At Backwoods, we understand our supervisors are a vital part of our organization.  Supervisors guide our employees through problematic situations by issuing instructions and coaching to results.  Properly trained supervision can be the difference between a company’s success and failure.  We train our supervisors, both internally and externally, to become future leaders.

Leadership training is how Backwoods invests in our future by improving our current leaders and developing new leaders into successful company stakeholders. Our extensive leadership program identifies individual traits and helps to develop the necessary qualities to lead our business now and in the future.
